Since the board here has now been moved to Yuku, when you log in here it should automatically migrate your account as well. If it hasn't, you'll know,
because when you go to your account you'll see a big banner inviting you to migrate it over. Just follow the instructions. It's all still free, and
your username and password should stay the same.

A new feature of the boards now is the ability to add tags (keywords) to a thread, which makes searching the board much easier. Only the creator of a thread
(or Admins) can add tags. There is a spot to fill them in when you make the first post in a thread, or you can edit later to add them.
Yuku's description of tags: "Tags are words and phrases used to describe a topic. These are used for filtering topics in the forums to make them easier to find. For example, if you have a sports forum a topic can be tagged with things relating to Basketball or Football, this way users have an easier locating their Topics of choice. "

Another new feature of the board is the ability to give "kudos" to threads and users. At the top of each thread you'll see a button to give kudos
if you like the thread; this will also count towards the author of the thread. You can give a user kudos by clicking on their name to go to their profile. On
their profile page you'll see a kudos link just below their name and avatar.
You also accrue kudos by posting on the board, by adding friends to your network, and by giving and receiving comments on profile pages.

The new profile and friends system works like myspace, basically. You can add friends by clicking on the "Friends" link just under their name &
avatar on their profile page. To have your friends show up on your profile page, just add the "Example Friends" block in your profile layout (you can
edit the name to be whatever you want.) Ditto for the Comments block. You can also set each section's permissions individually, as to who can see them -
yourself only, your networked friends, or anyone.

Collapsing/Hiding sections on the board | #6 | ||

You'll notice most sections on the board - the main box sections on each page, as well as individual replies in threads - have a little [-] at the top
right corner. Clicking it will cause that section to collapse to just the title bar, effectively hiding it from view. The system remembers your settings, so
each time you come back to that page it will still be collapsed until you click the [+] to expand it again.
This is pretty handy to hide sections you don't want to see all the time, for instance the new "Featured" section that appears at the top of the main board and some forums (which, for a while, is going to feature mainly stuff to do with the system changeover), or the "Archives" section on the main page, or the "Search Tags" section that appears at the top of forum pages if you don't like seeing the tag clouds there all the time (actually for the moment that one doesn't show, until I figure out how to have it be collapsed as a default setting.)

When you make a post using the Reply screen (not Quick Reply), you'll notice several options under the reply box. One of them is "Blog this."
Check the box, and your post is automatically added to your profile page in your Blog section (you must have the Blog section added, do that in your profile
settings.) Pretty cool!

We've got the capability for RSS feeds on this new system, so you can be updated when there are new posts to a topic or forum. You'll see the little
icon
 at the top right of most pages, just click it to have that forum or thread
added to your RSS reader.
